burning man :: august 2000 This is a series of happy people's hands and feet and heads while they are in shampoo bliss land. I took this series at the Astral Headwash in Black Rock City. This was the coolest theme camp last year in my books. They supplied the water. You supplied the shampoo and conditioner. You had to book ahead. So you show up with shampoo and someone washes your dusty nasty nasty hair for you. It's really good. You become a new person. You want to cry tears of joy. And... you know... There is something very sexy about getting your hair washed by a total stranger. There is something very vulnerable about tipping your head back, and then, you belong to Them. While I waited, I was really into studying the body at rest and the details. I took pictures of people's feet but they are not as interesting. These are poses here that you don't get to see that often. I think they are very beautiful. Kind of Pieta like. Holding a person's face and chin is a very, very intimate thing to do. Especially if the two people do not know each other yet the gesture is still so beautiful. I wonder what that is. go >>>>
